The Rock-Currock Youth Project
The Rock-Currock Youth Project is a registered charity (charity number 1119397) based in Carlisle, Cumbria, United Kingdom, focused on providing inclusive youth and young persons activities principally in the Carlisle and Cumbria area. Established in 2007, the charity operates universal youth clubs aimed at children and young people aged 7 to 19, with a particular emphasis on supporting vulnerable youth from disadvantaged communities[1][2][3].
History
The Rock Youth Project began its activities in the Currock area of Carlisle and was initially housed at the Currock Community Centre. In 2014, it moved to a new premises on Scalegate Road, marking a significant expansion of its operations. In 2019, the Project further extended its reach by establishing a new club in the Petteril Bank area to serve more young people in Carlisle South and surrounding neighborhoods[3].
Activities and Services
The Rock-Currock Youth Project provides a safe, fun space for over 50 vulnerable young people five nights a week. It runs multiple youth clubs and activities, separated by age and gender, including juniors, seniors, and girls' clubs. The clubs are located in community venues such as an old bowling green estate in Currock and Upperby, and Petteril Bank Community Hall. All youth clubs and activities are offered free of charge to participants upon completion of a membership form[1][3].
The organization’s provision is guided by three core principles: Time For You, Health For You, and Work For You. This approach supports young people engaged in risky behaviors by offering a safe, secure, and positive environment to foster personal development and well-being[4].

Today we focused on mental health and ways to support it 🧠😊 We discussed what mental health is, ways to improve it and people we can speak to if needed. Both Juniors and Seniors made stress balls and done an Inside Out theme quiz 💙 (fb)
Today we had a little VE Day celebration 🇬🇧 Members tried cucumber sandwiches, made scones, painted Union Jacks and made the flag out of Lego 🇬🇧🥒🥪 (fb)
