🌿 Giving Back in the Surrey Hills 🌿 Last week, the Voluntary Action team spent a day volunteering at the Quick Response Memorial Woodland (QRMW) in Holmbury St Mary. This hidden gem is cared for by Founder Paul, Debbie, and a team of incredible volunteers, supporting ex-servicemen and offering a peaceful Garden of Reflection for those affected by loss or conflict. We spent the day tidying woodland paths, cutting back shrubs around the beautiful pond, and carefully cleaning memorial plaques—followed by a picnic amongst the trees, hearing the moving stories behind the woodland. It was a humbling and rewarding experience, and we’ll certainly be returning in the spring! If you or your organisation are looking for a meaningful volunteering opportunity—whether just for a couple of hours or as a corporate day—this is a wonderful place to give your time. 📩 Interested? Age UK’s Silver Sunday is a national day where communities come together by hosting fun and free activities for older people. Simply put, it’s a day for older people to have something special to look forward to and enjoy themselves. This year, Silver Sunday is on Sunday 5 October.
