We were absolutely thrilled to officially launch our 'Banyar Dulguh' mural this morning in front of a large crowd of HRI staff, supporters, partners and community members!❤️🎨🙌💫 This beautiful artwork was painted by Bundjalung artist Deslyn (Dez) Marsh from Nyumbar - Aboriginal Education Programs on HRI's external wall in the heart of Newtown. It was commissioned through Inner West Council 's Perfect Match Street Art program and designed in collaboration with Elders from HRI's Djurali Centre. It really was extraordinary to have to so many friends come along and stand in the street to witness this mural come to life - and celebrate its significance as a symbol of unity, healing and the shared commitment to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health. We love the artwork SO much. It truly brightens up HRI, Eliza St and all of Newtown - and we have no doubt the local neighbourhood will take a great sense of pride and joy every time they walk past.
