Gower Ornithological Society – Home to The Gower Ringing Group

The aim of Gower Ornithological Society (GOS) is to encourage the study and recording of birds in the Swansea and Neath Port Talbot area. GOS does this through arranging guided bird-watching walks and talks on a wide variety of bird-related subjects. Ornithological study and record keeping, the promotion of interest in and preservation of birds.

About the Gower Ornithological Society GOS The aim of GOS is to promote the conservation of wild birds through promoting the study of all aspects of ornithology including supporting national bird surveys and local ornithological research arranging guided walks and educational talks collating maintaining and publishing bird records for the Swansea and Neath Port Talbot areas. For over 50 years the Society has published collated ornithological data in an annual report Gower Birds. This provides an indelible record and helps confirm our charitable status.
