🎉 Over the past three years, Lakeland Orienteering Club's Family Project (supported by our grant funding) has helped families discover the fun of orienteering, led by Club Development Officer Kath Savage, winner of the 2024 British Orienteering Development & Innovation Award! 🏆 In its third and final year, the project focused on sustainability and continued family engagement, achieving: ✅ Family-friendly “Come and Try It” events & workshops ✅ A new Permanent Orienteering Course at Fell Foot Park ✅ Over 100 families joining workshops and regular events ✅ 70 new members and doubled junior participation! Social media boosted outreach, and LOC now has a dedicated Publicity Officer — though volunteer recruitment and coaching remain priorities for the future.
