🚨ITV news: bells to ring again at landmark South Wales church The tower at St Illtyd, Gwynno & Dyfodwg church in Llantrisant, south Wales/Cymru, is rotting. Its exposed hilltop location mean that the tower has been repeatedly battered by intense storms, winds and rains over the years, with water entering the historic church. At times of intense rainfall, you’ll find water running down the sides of some of the walls and across the floors in the tower. In our latest round of grants, we were able to award a £73,000 grant to help this historic church make vital repairs. Our Wales/Cymru Support Officer, Gareth Simpson, was able to join ITV as they visited St Illtyd, Gwynno & Dyfodwg to film the news of the grant and how it will make a difference. Watch this brilliant interview with Adrian Clark, project lead and a member of the church congregation, and get a tour of the beautiful church. ➡️ https://www.itv.com/watch/news/church-given-pound73000-grant-for-huge-repairs-to-historic-building/b3zp8b6 📸 Screenshot of ITV News (fb)

The UK039s amazing churches are important all year around Across the UK churches chapels and meeting houses are open for you to explore. Please donate today to help ensure our church heritage remains open and in use. Save The Listed Places of Worship Grants Scheme The Listed Places of Worship Grants Scheme is a lifeline for historic churches saving them 20 per cent on repair costs. But the future of the scheme is uncertain and churches chapels meeting houses and cathedrals across the country are now paying up to a fifth more for repairs to fix urgent needs like leaking roofs and crumbling towers.
