Our summer stay and play sessions have proved another great success this year providing our younger members with a safe place where they can explore and have fun with friends and parents can enjoy a few hours in the company of like-minded individuals. A huge thank you to Hannah for organising and for her daughter Amy for once again leading on the crafts and to Hazel for volunteering her time to ensure all of the young people were engaged. An output of the sessions has been the creation of a new piece of art for the walls at 42a, watch this space for the first previews ahead of the start of term!!! (fb)
For those of you looking for summer holiday activities our friends @curatedbydapperandsuave are hosting their 3rd family fun day and summer market at Denbies wine Estate on the 17th August with a range of shopping opportunities as well as activities for all the family. PSDS are their chosen charity and we will be there supporting the event. We’ll have some fun games and prizes on our stall in the Courtyard - including our Cup Stacking Challenge, Higher & Lower and Lucky Bags! Plus there’s a competition to create the most colourful mismatched socks at the craft activity table. Helping children and young people with Down syndrome reach their full individual potential We are a Surrey based charity providing exceptional support and specialist services for children and young people who have Down syndrome. We support families too by providing guidance advice and friendship. By raising awareness about Down syndrome we also raise expectations about what our children and young people can achieve. No label no limits We believe there should be no preconceived limit on what a person who just happens to have Down syndrome can achieve.
