Join Maine Humanities Council and Maine MILL tonight at the museum from 5:30-7:00 PM for a conversation centered around three unique objects that can be viewed as art and as tools for daily life. We will examine the ways our understanding of artistry, industry, and personal identity have shifted over time in a conversation facilitated by Joe Hall, Associate Professor of History at Bates College. Participants will be encouraged to share their personal insight as we explore these themes and learn from each other’s perspectives. This conversation is part of a pilot program in community history by Maine Humanities Council. (fb)
Join us Friday, June 27 from 5-6pm for our next Movement at the Museum - Magic! Scot Grassette will be here to teach us the basics of misdirection. Learn different effects with coins, rubber bands and other objects you can find around the house. As part of the magic class participants will be required to take an oath not to reveal magic to the general public. A magician never reveals their secrets! Free for all. (fb)
