🎵 A Memorable October Court! 🎵 At our October Court on Wednesday, the Master was delighted to clothe five new Liverymen and admit twelve new Freemen from across the musical world — a wonderful celebration of talent and community. We were also proud to mark The Beadle Shaun James’ 10th anniversary with the Company — congratulations, Shaun, and thank you for your decade of dedicated service! 👏 The evening concluded with an excellent dinner at Grocers’ Hall, joined by visiting Masters and Clerks who have supported us throughout the year. Guests were treated to an outstanding performance by trombonist Daniel Higham, our 2021 Young Jazz Musician Award Winner, and his brilliant band. ✨ (fb)

🎻 Last Wednesday, The Musicians’ Company gathered at St Paul’s Cathedral for our Annual Evensong — a service held since 1908, filled with history, tradition, and music from composers closely connected with the Company. A highlight was Edward Elgar’s Elegy for Strings (Op. 58), performed by the Royal College of Music String Orchestra and conducted by Giuseppe Stillitano. Composed for the Company in 1909, it has been a treasured part of Evensong since 1914, in memory of recently deceased Company members. We are deeply thankful to St Paul’s Cathedral for their welcome, to 76 fellow Livery Companies who processed, and to all who helped make this service so special. (fb)
