Meadowhead Community Learning Trust
Overview
The Meadowhead Community Learning Trust, a UK-based nonprofit organisation with charity number 1135386, was established in September 2009. The Trust focuses on enhancing educational standards for pupils aged 3-19 within the Meadowhead Community[1].
Activities and Achievements
The Trust has been instrumental in fostering partnerships and collaborations to improve life chances for young people. One of its early successes included a partnership with Norton College, which offered A-Level courses until Norton College closed in summer 2015[2]. Despite this closure, the Trust has continued to thrive, particularly following Meadowhead School's conversion to an official 11-18 school in September 2013. This change allowed for the expansion of Sixth Form education provision, with over 240 students now studying Sixth Form qualifications on site[2].
Current Initiatives
The organisation, now known as Meadowhead Together, supports various projects through small grants and annual funding. Key initiatives include the "Everyone a Writer" program, the Trust Choir, and employer engagement activities such as work experience and mock interviews[2]. The Trust also celebrated the opening of a new Sixth Form Centre in November 2017, providing enhanced facilities for further education[2].
Future Developments
Proposals have been made for changes within the Trust, aiming to continue and expand its beneficial work for thousands of young people[4].
