Indigenous women human rights defenders lent their powerful voices for land, environment, and justice during #WHRDAdvocacyWeek which we had the honor of co-organizing. The week in Geneva focused on elevating Indigenous voices, collective strength, and intersectional advocacy at the UN. In partnership with International Service for Human Rights (ISHR), Just Associates (JASS), Peace Brigades International - Schweiz/Suisse, Amnesty International, the WHRD MENA Coalition, IM-Defensoras, Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID), Front Line Defenders, Urgent Action Fund, and the Women Human Rights Defenders International Coalition (WHRDIC), we brought together 10 powerful Indigenous leaders from across the globe to foster solidarity, enable direct advocacy with UN mechanisms, and provide capacity-building opportunities. Feminist struggles are interconnected, and our strength is undeniable.
