Our gardens are looking absolutely amazing, and we have our incredible Food Growers Sunday, Gardening Wednesday, and Therapeutic Gardening groups to thank! We’re officially in peak season, and our harvests have been phenomenal. This year, we’ve joined the Top of the Crops competition organized by Capital Growth, and our hard work is paying off! Since August 1st, we’ve: 🥒Saved £253.88 🍅Prevented 54.67 kg of CO2 🫑Harvested 31 kg of food, which is approximately 387 meals! Thank you to everyone who has gotten their hands dirty and helped us achieve these amazing results. As a part of Totally Thames Fest at Cody Dock, we will be screening Paul Wyatt’s brilliant documentary Time and Tide: Steel, Grit, and Glass’ Described as “A Powerful Exploration Of This Moment In Time.” (Laura Boon, Royal Museums Greenwich), Time and Tides documents the ever changing industrial landscapes in East London and the people who live amongst them.🏢 💭Paul Wyatt asks the question, ‘What happens when places we know change?’ Landscapes shape our sense of belonging and identity, but market forces and the need for new housing eat away at their fabric, disrupting our sense of place when they are remade and tidied up around us.
