We are truly saddened to hear of the recent passing of Meyrick Sheen. Meyrick was our very first Ambassador, and his kindness, generosity and unwavering support meant a great deal to us all. In the early days of our charity, he played a vital role in shaping our identity and building meaningful connections with the communities we serve. His friendly presence at the Afan Nedd Lunch Club, his warm encouragement to new members, and his approachable nature left a lasting impression on all those that had the pleasure of meeting him. Even during the pandemic, Meyrick continued to champion our work - recording video messages to help reach older people who were feeling isolated or unsure where to turn. His compassion brought reassurance and practical advice when it was most needed, and his efforts helped shape services that continue to support people today. Meyrick was so much more than an Ambassador - he was a treasured friend, a trusted advocate, and a compassionate champion for older people. His legacy is woven into the heart of Age Cymru West Glamorgan, and his impact will be felt for many years to come.
