Diwrnod 2: “Tywydd uffernol gyda’r glaw fel cenllysg” 💪 🐉 🔥 (Scroll down for English version) Roedd y tywydd “yn uffernol gyda’r glaw fel cenllysg” yn ôl rhedwr ar ddiwrnod cyntaf un o’r rasys mynydd anoddaf yn y byd. Mae Chris Williams, 47, o Fethesda, yn rhedeg 240 o filltiroedd o Gonwy i Gaerdydd yn Ras Cefn y Ddraig Dragon's Back Race i godi arian i Cymdeithas Deillion Gogledd Cymru - North Wales Society of The Blind. Bydd yn rhedeg dros 60,000 o droedfeddi rhwng ddoe (dydd Llun, Medi 1) hyd ddydd Sadwrn, Medi 6. Ddoe dechreuodd 278 o redwyr dewr o Gonwy am 6yb a rhedeg tan 5yp – gan gynnwys i fyny copaon y Glyderau a’r Wyddfa. Meddai Chris: “Roedd rhedeg dros yr Wyddfa yn ddiawledig. Roedd hi’n arllwys y glaw.” Bu’n rhaid iddyn nhw redeg trwy ambell nant ac afon oedd wedi gorlifo cyn cyrraedd eu pebyll mewn gwersyll yn Nant Gwynant. Yna, ymolchi yn yr afon cyn swper o chilli, reis a phaned cyn dechrau eto am 6 y bore ma! Heddiw, ar ôl rhedeg i Drawsfynydd, gwersyll ger Dolgellau fydd diwedd y daith am heno. Mae Chris wedi sefydlu tudalen Just Giving er mwyn i bobl gyfrannu arian i’r Gymdeithas. https://www.justgiving.com/page/cefnyddraigchris Mae hefyd yn bosib dilyn Chris ar y We yn ogystal ag anfon neges o gefnogaeth ato: https://live.opentracking.com/dragonsbackrace2025/ Day Two: “Hellish weather with the rain like hail” 💪 🐉 🔥 The weather was "hellish with the rain like hail" according to a runner on Day One of the world’s most difficult mountain races. Chris Williams, 47, from Bethesda, is running 240 miles from Conwy to Cardiff in the Cefn y Ddraig Race Dragon's Back Race to raise money for Cymdeithas Deillion Gogledd Cymru - North Wales Society of The Blind. The route means running over 60,000 feet over six days, ending on Saturday, September 6. Yesterday 278 brave runners started from Conwy at 6am - including up Y Glyderau and yr Wyddfa peaks. Chris said: "Running over yr Wyddfa was hellish in the pouring rain." The runners also had to run through a couple of flooded streams and rivers before reaching their tents at a camp in Nant Gwynant. Then, they washed in the river before a dinner of chilli, rice and a cup of tea before starting again at 6 this morning! After running to Trawsfynydd, a camp near Dolgellau will be the end of the journey for tonight before an early start again tomorrow! Chris has set up a Just Giving page for people to donate money to the Society. https://www.justgiving.com/page/cefnyddraigchris It is also possible to follow Chris' progress on the Web as well as send him a message of support: https://live.opentracking.com/dragonsbackrace2025/ (fb)
