Recreating the legend The Ivatt Diesel Recreation Society plan to recreate and operate 10000 the first British mainline diesel electric locomotive. The original was scrapped in 1968 before the preservation movement had started to take notice of historically important diesel locomotives. LMS 10000 and 10001 were the ancestors of all current British mainline diesel locomotives. Designed by H.
