The organization stages two major productions annually, typically held at Lewes Town Hall. In addition to local performances, LOS has also toured nearby villages and participated in international productions in its twin towns of Blois, France, and Waldshut, Germany[1][5].
The society not only focuses on theatrical productions but also hosts various social events throughout the year. These include trips to West End shows, country walks, sports matches, garden parties, a Christmas dinner-dance, and quiz nights. Recent notable productions by LOS Musical Theatre have included Betty Blue Eyes, Hello, Dolly!, Sweet Charity, Grease, My Fair Lady, Follies, Chess, and Into The Woods. The society had planned to produce Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, but this was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic[1].
Current Projects
One of their latest productions is Me and My Girl, originally produced at the Adelphi Theatre in London. This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd[2].
