Something about September has that New Year feeling, with a lot of people starting new things or returning to the old after a bit of a break. Therapy can be one of those new things you start at this transitional time. It can also be one of those things you return to after a bit of a break. Leaving therapy and coming back can feel to some like a failure, but it isn’t. It is a reflection of the completely normal fluctuation in how much support we need at different times in our lives, and of the non-linear nature of healing.
