Rachel is an international school leader committed to building cultures of relational trust, psychological safety, and shared leadership. She currently serves as Director of the American International School of Bucharest. Previously, Rachel led Pechersk School International in Kyiv through the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, guiding the school through crisis, emergency relocation, and re-establishment of operations in partnership with the American School of Warsaw. She is known for centering her leadership practice around trust, relational connection, and “ferocious warmth”—a balance of high challenge and high care. Her work is grounded in the belief that, as Margaret Wheatley says, “Whatever the problem, community is the answer”—a principle she has carried into every role she has held. Rachel continues to reflect, speak, and collaborate on leadership practices that foster belonging, adaptability, and care across diverse school communities.
