In El Salvador, Carlos* experienced near-constant discrimination at work because of his gender identity as a trans man. After years of harassment, he was fired without justification, throwing his life into turmoil. Activists from COMCAVIS TRANS—an organization supported by our Legal Empowerment Fund—stepped in, providing him with legal advice and human rights training. Empowered with knowledge, Carlos won a case against his wrongful dismissal, received compensation, and even became an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights himself.
