Our four kindergartens recently came together for a Michaelmas harvest celebration. In the morning, each child brought a basket filled with autumn vegetables which they helped to wash, peel and chop ready for soup. Each kindergarten, Oak, Willow, Silver Birch and Apple Tree, made their own large pot of soup and a loaf of bread to share. While the children were busy indoors, parents and teachers set up tables out in the garden, decorated with autumn leaves and nature’s treasures. What a lovely surprise it was for the children to see everything ready for the celebration. When all was prepared, families gathered to share a harvest lunch of soup and bread. We were so lucky with the weather — the sun shone brightly through the trees. Before we began, we blessed the meal together with: Blessings on the blossom, Blessings on the root, Blessings on the leaf and stem, Blessings on the fruit. You are warmly invited by Class 8 families to a Community Fire Night in the schools Eco Garden at Ringwood Waldorf School tomorrow night. Friday 17th October | 5:00 – 8:30pm As the daylight fades, our fires will be lit and the garden will come alive with music and community spirit. Enjoy a Fire Show, live music, creative family photos and children’s activities. There will be food available, with a BBQ, soup, cakes and hot drinks. Bring your own chair and cup. This special evening is organised by Class 8 and their parents as a fundraiser for their class fund.
