Here is to another year to me (on the 20th May) and another amazing wildlife conservation project to support Wild & Free - Rehabilitation and Release ! You are probably quite used to my yearly birthday fundraisers (Facebook's law changed and I can't do a fundraiser anymore)- they have always been a huge success and allowed the charity to make big leaps in the support we provide to our projects. Let's hope this year is no different! This is the link to my birthday fundraiser: gofund.me/01cbf00d This project is based in Uganda to support the work of Kigali Natural Conservation and Development (KNCD) to rescue, rehabilitate and release pangolins back to the wild, but with an incredible approach to it. I will be sharing more information and photos about KNCD in Uganda in the fundraiser page so you can see it in action. Please watch the video that explains it all, I know it is a bit long but I am really passionate about it and hope that you can help me reach my goal. If we did exceed the target, the additional donations will go towards the Elephant & Bees project that you might be familiar with, as I am about to launch the 3rd phase of it with 100 beehives to install like the previous two locations but this time in Tarangire National Park. And it's a wrap! A double wrap in fact! Mirko Chianucci's wildlife photography exhibition "Un mondo da protegerre"(A world to protect) has now ended, after being extended by a month due to its appeal and success, how wonderful! While visitors kept coming to look at the wildlife photographies taken by Mirko around the world, they were also exposed to the work of two charities: Associazone Acquerino Cantagallo and Wild&Free, thanks to the great leaflets in Italian created by Mirko. His photos were on sale, and along the leaflets that he created in Italian was a donation box... All together, Mirko gathered €460 for Wild&Free, which has been transferred to Wild&Free today. Among his visitors, a very generous donor person made a separated donation and I want to say a special thank you Yuti & Umit for their incredible generousity, propulsing us onto the next project! Do you know what it means? (That's the double wrap) Thanks to these last donations, we can now finalise building the remaining 10 beehives that make us reach our target of the 100 beehives near Lake Manyara, marking the completion of our second project with AFeWiS, to address and solved the human / elephant conflict in Tanzania. I just sent the funds to AFeWis this afternoon. Woohoo! 🐝🍾🐘 That's 200 beehives funded for this cause on the boundaries of 2 National Parks in Tanzania so far. To say that I am grateful is an understatement. I am overwhelmed. Mirko is a long time supporter of the charity, and now even an ambassador in Italy.
