Sometimes we get bowled over by the generosity of others and this week has been a shining example of this. We were taken completely by surprise by the generosity of two friends of one of our sponsors Lise Moloney. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Don and Lesley Ward for your incredibly generous donation to Thunder. The money will be used for school fees and also for the many other ‘extras’ we are now required to pay to keep our children at school. Alm our children are hone for a short holiday this week so Ramadan met up with them all to catch up, listen to any problems and then he began the meeting which he named The Mothers Persoectuve. . Shadrack’s mum and Erika and Angelica’s mum Dian spoke to the children as their mothers. It was a very special moment especially for James and Shadrack's mum who reminded everyone that they were neighbors when the children were in pre school .They spoke of the Thunder families coexistence - knowing /visiting each other's homes with the permission of parents . They are now getting interested in current affairs / research about what is going on in the world now that most have access to internet . Almost all attended and they also talked about starting community projects to give back to the communities they live in. The children were very keen to set this up when they are next home for the long Christmas holiday. As you look at these pictures it is striking how our ‘children’ have all developed into healthy and happy adolescents and Ramadan is working with them on their development into responsible adults with a keen sense of community and giving back. Thanks to our fantastic sponsors these children are the lucky ones and we are now starting to instil a social conscience into them so they go into the adult world with a true purpose whilst leading meaningful lives within their communities.
