🚤 Welcoming Fellow Lifeboat Volunteers Today, the independent lifeboat service Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS) were delighted to welcome a group of dedicated volunteers from the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA). The team were visiting the area and reached out to come and see our facilities and lifeboat assets. The visit was organised by Community Director Darren Taylor-Lane, with Coxswain Mike Allen on hand to explain how our Joan Dora Fuller lifeboat differs from other lifeboat assets operating in the region. It’s always a pleasure to meet other like-minded volunteers, share experiences, and exchange knowledge. We wish the SARA crew a safe journey back to Chepstow and look forward to meeting again in the future! (fb)

📻 VHF Radio Found A lovely lady named Melanie Coulbert has kindly handed in a handheld VHF radio to Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service (GAFIRS). The radio is coded, meaning it has been set up with specific channels for a particular user and may not be accessible to the general public. When switched on, it also shows the country of use, which could help identify the owner.
