We're so excited to see dragonflies emerging at the pond at Winton Recreation Ground 😀 Dragonfly nymphs typically live underwater for 1–2 years before emerging onto a leaf ready to shed their outer casing. That's what you can see has just happened in this photo. Once out, they wait an hour or so until their wings harden and they can fly. We think this is an emperor dragonfly. There are more empty casings around the pond from dragonflies which have emerged. If you're visiting Winton Recreation Ground, have a look and see if you can spot any dragonflies flying around the pond. (fb)
