Don’t be surprised if no one matches your values 100%, but seriously consider voting for the one who comes closest. 3. Key questions: Regarding the incumbent government, ask yourself: am I, the state, or the nation better off now than I was 3-4 years ago? Day of Prayer: Tips for Last Days Living The National Day of Prayer, an American event, is held on the first Thursday in May. Its purpose is to mobilise Americans of all faiths to pray for the nation, the government and the people. Created by an act of Congress in 1952 and signed into law by President Harry Truman, every successive president makes an annual declaration for the National Day of Prayer. The theme of this year’s NDP is taken from Romans 15:13: ‘Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing.’ Of course, we should pray daily, for it is written in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 a three-word verse: ‘Pray without ceasing.’ Finally, I commend a most appropriate passage 1 Timothy 2:1-5: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
