Giving a special mention to the Worshipful Company of Water Conservators. They have funded the position of the Year In Industry placement for 5 years enabling huge amounts of good work and beginning the journey of budding conservationists on their careers. The training and development of both practical tickets and professional skills gained from the placement are invaluable. (fb)
On Sunday the 4th of May, official dawn chorus day, the birdsong was at its best. Was anyone up to hear the dawn chorus? These pictures are a collection of volunteer photos of some favourite spots to watch and listen out for birds in the Holme valley as well as some fantastic bird photos from Nick Johnston. Rich in history and heritage and teeming with wildlife the River Holme provides wellbeing opportunities for young and old. It can be a place for leisure and recreation or somewhere to relax and connect with nature but it needs looking after. Working together we want to make the River Holme catchment a better place for people and wildlife.
