NOT JUST A SCHOOL TRIP During the school holidays, Huracan FC Mukuru Nairobi often takes children from the community outside the neighbourhood. Following Huracan FC Mukuru’s resounding success this year, more than 85 participants joined, which meant that the team had to hire a Matatu (a typical Nairobi bus) so that everyone could travel together 🚌🎈. The aim was not only to offer a break from the school routine. They were also looking to: 🤝 Strengthen team unity ❤️‍🩹 Broaden horizons away from the violence, poverty and difficulties they face on a daily basis in Mukuru One of the most significant moments was the visit to Karura Forest, where they went for a walk and took the opportunity to reflect on climate change. Through games and learning, each participant was able to imagine a different future, full of hope and new opportunities. It is always important to remind young people that if they want it, a better world is possible. HURACAN FC PANTERAS KEEPS FLYING HIGH 🎈🇵🇹 In recent months, our Huracan FC Panteras 🇵🇹 project has achieved a historic milestone in local sports: forming a 100% female team, as well as surpassing 100 young participants who are now an active part of this family. This impact has not gone unnoticed, as professional player Rafa Sudre has decided to become an ambassador for the project. A few days ago, she made her first visit to meet the staff and the boys and girls who make it possible, conveying to them the pride and sense of belonging that comes with being part of something so special.
