ICYMI the 2025 National Fruit Show competition is now open for entries! Now in its 92nd year the show is proud to host the country’s largest competitive display of commercially grown fruit - showcasing the very best of British! It has never been easier to prepare an entry as only one of three trays will be scrutinised by the judges. How to enter Step 1 - head to the website, download the entry forms and send them to competitions@nationalfruitshow.org.uk by 13 October for top fruit, by 17 October for cobnuts and walnuts, or by 29 October for the heaviest apples, heaviest pears and tastiest apple classes. Step 2 - select your fruit straight from the orchard, bin or grader. Step 3 - pack 3 trays, generously provided by sponsor Produce Packaging, and mark them A, B and C. This year, for the first time, only tray A will be judged in depth. Trays B and C must be the correct size and uniform in colour as tray A but can contain blemishes and marks. Step 4 - make sure your fruit is delivered to the Kent Showground by 3pm on Monday 3rd November. Free transport of top fruit entries from East Harling, Ledbury, Wisbech and Codford is once again generously offered by National Fruit Show major sponsor @hutchinsons.
