Celebrating 124 years of the Spiritualists' National Union - wishing everyone a very Happy Birthday! 🌻🎉 Today, 18th October, is the 'birthday' of the SNU - the anniversary of its founding, on this very day back in 1901. As the Union celebrates another year of bringing the truth and light of our beautiful movement to people, we once again celebrate YOU. Our churches, centres, districts, members, friends, affiliates, ministers, healers, tutors, speakers, mediums, officers, volunteers, congregants. YOU are the Spiritualists' National Union. WE are the Spiritualists' National UNION. Together in unity and shared purpose. The past year has been full of renewed promise and excitement within the SNU. Historic moments such as attending London Pride for the first time, taking Spiritualism out into new and diverse communities. The SNU's Year of Healing seeing districts, churches and volunteers bringing Spiritualist Healing to monasteries, public event days and even race courses! Philosophy was brought back to the fore with the introduction of our regular philosophy pamphlet series, sharing the wisdom and insight of our members across a range of thought-provoking topics. There was record-breaking attendance at our annual Peace Walk, which saw Spiritualists from across generations and all over the UK come together at a time when the world needs peace more than ever. We spend today thinking of and thanking you all for your continued efforts in every corner and reach of the Union. We also, of course, pay homage to our trailblazing pioneers, for standing fast against discrimination and persecution to pave the way for these 124 glorious years, with many more to come! ❗ Statement on malicious emails & communications - Thursday 16th October 2025. We are aware that a series of malicious emails have been circulating to our affiliates and associates of the Spiritualists’ National Union (’SNU’) and the Arthur Findlay College (’AFC’), targeting senior figures within the SNU. We acknowledge that the tone and content of these communications — along with the materials they reference — have caused significant concern and distress. We wish to reassure all affiliates and associates that these emails did not originate from within the SNU or AFC. Nonetheless, we are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness. We are actively seeking counsel and reviewing potential breaches of data protection legislation, given the unauthorised and widespread dissemination of personal information by the sender. We can confirm that no data breach has occurred within the SNU’s systems. In the meantime, we strongly advise members not to engage with or respond to these emails. If possible, please delete them or mark them as spam using your email settings. As a Union, we value open dialogue and constructive criticism. However, the recent escalation into targeted harassment and personal attacks is unacceptable. Our volunteers, staff, members, and officials have the right to carry out their roles without fear of intimidation, abuse, or defamation.
