UK emergency alert test: 7th September On Sunday 7th September at 3pm, a UK-wide emergency alert test will take place. Mobile phones will make a loud siren-like sound, even if they are on silent. They may also vibrate. Whilst these alerts aim to protect the public in emergencies, they could put victim-survivors of domestic abuse at risk, especially those who rely on hidden phones as part of their safety plan.
