Talks of the Day Book your place at www.heritagehub.org.uk/events 11am: Heather Forbes - ‘In Record Time’ Heather has been the County Archivist of Gloucestershire since 2005 but is a leading figure within her profession, having worked at London Metropolitan Archives, Hampshire Archives and Canterbury Cathedral Archives. She has cared for a variety of records, from the ancient to modern as well as historical artefacts and items of international significance. 1pm: Mark Horton - ‘My Career in Ruins’ Mark is an archaeologist with global interests, involved in ‘Time Team’ (Channel 4), ‘Time Flyers’ (BBC2), and ‘Coast’ (BBC2) and projects for the History, National Geographic and Discovery channels. He is currently appearing on Science Channel’s ‘What on Earth’. Also, as Director of Research for the RAU, Mark is enthusiastic about preserving our historic and green environment. 3pm: Q&A session on heritage volunteering Workshops and demonstrations Book your place at www.heritagehub.org.uk/events 10.30 & 2:15pm: Mysteries of the Museum. Identify objects and figure out use, purpose and care. Session leader: Kirstie Bingham, Heritage Manager at the John Moore Museum, Tewkesbury. Local members can enjoy a regular programme of exclusive talks and events. In the last few years the Friends have raised over 130000 towards the refurbishment of Gloucestershire Archives. Membership is open to anyone who cares about the documented heritage of the historic county of Gloucestershire.
