We're so excited - work has started today to construct our new barn to store hay and keep machinery out of the rain. This is a dream come true for us. The price of hay has risen hugely due to the dry Summer, a large round bale is almost £100, a small bale £7.50, and with 32 horses to feed over the winter we are worried about being able to buy enough to last through to the Spring. ABOUT DONATE SPONSORSHIP HELP US GALLERY REHABILITATION REHOMING CONTACT BLOGS More Welcome to Blue Acre We are a registered charity No 1168059 dedicated to the rescue care rehabilitation and where possible rehoming of abused neglected or abandoned horses and ponies. We aim to rehabilitate and rehome as many of the horses we take in as possible however many come from an abusive or neglected background and in most cases we have no knowledge of what they may have been through. All we know is that we have a very scared untrusting and unhappy horse on our hands. Our team of volunteers work hard to restore their faith in human beings and allow them to grow and flourish in our care while we try to ascertain at their own pace whether they can be ridden or due to physical mental or agerelated issues need to remain here for the duration of their lives or can be rehomed purely as companion horses.
