Springers Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society is a UK-based nonprofit amateur theatre group founded in 1982 and located in Chelmsford, Essex. Springers originated from a successful fundraising cabaret event for the North Springfield Community Association in Chelmsford. Following the success of this event, a small group formed the society in 1982. Since its inception, Springers has aimed to be an ambitious drama group welcoming members of all ages and encouraging widespread community involvement in amateur theatre production.
Activities and Performances
Springers presents three musicals annually in local venues such as the Chelmsford Civic Theatre and Cramphorn Theatre. Their repertoire includes a variety of musicals and dramatic productions appealing to diverse audiences. Recent and upcoming performances include:
- Seussical The Musical (November 2024)
- The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe (March 2025)
- All Shook Up (June 2025)
- Nativity! The Musical (November 2025)
