Creative Connections was a project, funded by @merseysidevrp , where children at risk of persistent absenteeism were given the opportunity to work with an artist or arts organisation over a period of four months. We are in the process of evaluating and pulling together all of the data and feedback from the project at the moment but what's really standing out to us is the impact it's had on the children's wellbeing and confidence. We've had several case studies sent of children who at the beginning of the project wouldn't engage with the artist or the other children in the group but by the end were mixing comfortably with their peers and children of different ages. The change in one child was described as a "remarkable transformation." Arts activity has allowed those children to make connections with the adults they have been working with and the other children in the group. Working with the artists- @artsgroupie , @tinaramosekongoart, @fbebbington and @makemouthmusic- has had an incredible impact on those children. (fb)
