Thrilled to be named in this important new research paper as one of the "institutions and agencies with which to partner to advance aquatic conservation in Nepal". For the last two months we have been negotiating with two agencies to partner with in Nepal. Currently we are in fieldwork season and there are some critical workshops and conferences organised around this time as well. This has slowed the negotiation process but in the meantime we have funded an early career scientist from one of those local bodies to take IUCN Species Survival Commission conservation planning training. This can only help to achieve the goals set out in the paper over the longer term. Hopefully, once we move towards October and November, we will once again get down to establishing a strong partner network to work on the many research, advocacy and support strands needed to update the current knowledge of Nepal's rivers and fishes. As ever, we are always ready to talk to anyone working in related fields, and in particular to find keen young minds who are prepared to dedicate themselves to wild river fish across the mahseer range.
