It’s been a busy day today and in the days leading up to VE Day where we have been making preparations and attending duty to contribute to the VE Day 80th celebrations. Duty was duly attended at RAF Digbys Combined Mess VE Day formal dinner where our very own veteran WOT1, accompanied by museum members Gary and Kinga with their equally veteran Dodge Weapons Carrier. This can be found on occasion masquerading as a USAAF Fire Truck representing an 8th Air Force example. Also in attendance was our friendly MTO, Paul with his RAF Regt Bedford. All mess attendees and RAF Digby alike were impressed with our small but apt display. In other news, three of our vehicles have been prepped and made ready to attend an event at the Faun Cafe Hemswell this Saturday. Our Mk10, ACRT, and TACR2 will be in attendance. Sadly a mechanical issue has not allowed the TACR1 to attend, but this should not keep it of the road for long. A busy few days for our volunteers, but it’s all worth the effort. May I take this opportunity to pay our respects to VE Day, we will remember them, those that were left behind and all of our veterans that remain. You are all heroes in your own right.
