Saddleworth Male Voice Choir Welcome To SMVC Saddleworth Male Voice Choir Welcome to our website. The choir can trace its roots back to the very earliest years of the 20th century and has been known as Saddleworth Male Voice Choir since 1955. Saddleworth is the collective name for an area of several villages and picturesque countryside to the east of Oldham in the Pennine hills on the YorkshireLancashire border. Historically within the most westerly part of the West Riding of Yorkshire Saddleworth reluctantly became part of Oldham Greater Manchester in the 1974 local government reorganisation but continues to regard itself as within the historic County of York.
