Our school proudly celebrated Founders Day with the meaningful theme: 50 Years Before – Marriage Rituals in Ladakh.The event served as a beautiful reminder of the cultural richness of our land and the importance of passing on traditional knowledge to the younger generation. The celebration was made special by the presence and blessings of our revered founder, H.E. Drukpa Thuksey Rinpoche, along with H.E. Khamtak Rinpoche, H.E. Chosam Rinpoche, H.E. Langna Rinpoche, the Executive Councillor LAHDC Leh , respected monks,nuns,parents and other respected dignitaries. Their presence added grace and gravitas to the occasion, reminding us of the vision and values upon which our school was built. The day commenced with the auspicious inauguration of the Manjushri Stupa in the school campus, symbolizing peace, wisdom, and the spiritual roots of our community. This sacred beginning set a reflective and reverent tone for the celebrations that followed. One of the highlights of the morning was a dynamic Kungfu session performed by our girl students, led by skilled Kungfu masters. This powerful display of discipline and strength was not only inspiring but also emphasized the importance of physical well-being and empowerment. Continuing the celebration, Grade 10 students presented a graceful dance performance to the school song, celebrating unity, pride, and the values our institution upholds. The centerpiece of the day was a re-enactment of traditional Ladakhi wedding rituals. This immersive experience brought together students, parents, guests, and faculty to witness the beauty and significance of age-old customs. The ceremony highlighted the contrast between past and present, while emphasizing the timeless value of community, respect, and cultural identity. This Founders Day was not just a celebration of our school’s journey, but also a vibrant tribute to Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage. It reminded us all — students, staff, and community members alike — of the importance of preserving our traditions while growing into the future. (fb)
