We showed this as part of our festival in December and we're delighted to be screening it again with Watershed, this time welcoming director Mahdi Fleifel to Bristol for a post-screening Q&A. Saturday 8 February 18:00 Watershed 'To a Land Unknown' (18) Award-winning drama debut from Danish-Palestinian Madi Fleifel that highlights the desperate struggle for a better life. Chatila and Reda are Palestinian refugees in Athen saving to pay for fake passports to escape their rough lives. But when Reda loses their hard-earned cash to his dangerous drug addiction, Chatila hatches an extreme plan to get him and his best friend out of their hopeless environment before it is too late. Iyad Burnat in Conversation with Bristol Palestine Film Festival Trustee Sally Azzam: Bristol Palestine Museum, Friday 7 February 19:00 Tickets on Headfirst Join us for an inspiring evening with award-winning Palestinian human rights activist Iyad Burnat, in conversation with Sally Azzam, a prominent Palestinian social activist based in Bristol. Iyad Burnat, head of the Bil’in Popular Committee, has dedicated his life to nonviolent resistance in the fight for freedom, justice, and human rights. In 2015, he received the prestigious James Lawson Award for achievements in nonviolent conflict resolution. Iyad is also the author of Bil’in and the Nonviolent Resistance and appears in the Oscar-nominated documentary 5 Broken Cameras. Copies of his book will be available at the event, with an opportunity for signing. Event highlights: 20-minute film screening documenting Iyad’s family’s powerful struggle for justice. Talk on Bil’in village’s resistance efforts against occupation and land theft. Discussion on Iyad’s journey, challenges, and unwavering commitment to peaceful activism. Q&A session to engage directly with Iyad Burnat. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear firsthand from one of the leading Palestinian voices for justice and witness his compelling documentation of resistance. Bristol Palestine Film Festival 2024 30 November 8 December Due to storm Darragh Aida Returns has been rescheduled for Friday 13 December at 1800. Also The Watershed has added three additional screenings of The Teacher on Friday 13 Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December. Book now Were pleased to announce that the Bristol Palestine Film Festival is returning to Arnolfini this year. The cancellation of two of our events last year led to an artistled boycott of the Arnolfini.
