Oxfordshire Breastfeeding Support
Oxfordshire Breastfeeding Support (OBS) is a UK nonprofit organisation dedicated to providing specialist breastfeeding support to families in Oxfordshire. Established in 2006, the charity aims to promote breastfeeding, provision of breast milk, and responsive feeding practices for babies across the region.
Mission and Objectives
The primary objective of OBS is to educate and empower families in Oxfordshire to adopt breastfeeding and responsive feeding practices. This is achieved through a range of services, including in-person support sessions, video and phone consultations, and monthly online antenatal breastfeeding education sessions. These services are facilitated by experienced International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) and breastfeeding counsellors, supported by trained volunteers.

- In-Person Support Sessions: OBS offers multiple weekly in-person drop-in sessions for infant feeding support across various locations in Oxfordshire, such as The Leys and Littlemore.
- Remote Consultations: Families can access free video and phone consultations with OBS facilitators, especially when other services are not readily available.
- Online Education: Regular online antenatal breastfeeding education sessions are hosted to prepare expectant parents for breastfeeding.
- Community Support Group: OBS operates a private Facebook group where families can quickly seek advice and support from experienced staff and peers.

Our spring closure starts tomorrow! 🌷 All of our services, including our Facebook group, will be closed from Saturday 12th - Monday 21st April inclusive, reopening as normal on Tuesday, 22nd April. Sessions can be booked as normal during the spring closure, with bookings opening 10 days in advance of the session.
