We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend and trustee, Sara Venn. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Noah, Andy and Sara’s family and friends, of whom she was incredibly proud. It’s impossible to put into words the passion, vitality and dedication that Sara put into her work and so generously shared with Bristol’s food community. All her efforts were rooted in compassion and an unwavering commitment to justice. She was always the first person to pull up a chair for those not at the table and used her skills and knowledge to empower others. She saw growing food the most powerful way to resist systemic injustice and build community; her belief in a better world was infectious. There will be a huge Sara-shaped hole in Bristol, one that nobody can fill. But together, we can try to continue her legacy and plant more seeds for change 💚 - We urge everyone affected by Sara’s passing to be gentle with themselves, take breaks and spend some time outside if you can. The Transgender Community need our support more than ever. Join us on Sunday, 15th June, for an evening of community, fundraising, and delicious vegetarian meals! 🌱 As part of our Food Justice Fortnight 2025, we are partnering with Serving Bristol Super Club as they host a vegetarian three-course Indian menu at The MAZI Project. This event is a fundraiser, with all the proceeds going to FiveforFive, a collective fund for trans women, girls and transfem causes in the UK. Food Justice Fortnight is an annual series of events hosted by Feeding Bristol, dedicated to celebrating food and community. This event is the perfect opportunity to join us and connect with the community.
