Over half term week, Space to Grow (our community garden in Walton) hosted a number of autumn inspired sessions for Home-Start Elmbridge and Momentum Children's Charity. As it was Halloween week our inspiration was a little spooky! Despite the rain and wind everyone came prepared and keen to get stuck in. Whist parents chatted, children created and imagined. 🎃🕷👻 We made pinecone bird feeders and googly eyed cress critters, and used rosemary from the garden to make witchy brooms. We also collected conkers to make fantastic spiders, webs and bats which the children took home to hang up for Halloween and "put in bed to scare mum" 😂 The great thing is that all the crafts we did are eco-friendly and can be composted once finished with. We ended our sessions with everyone coming together over delicious hot chocolate topped with marshmallows. We hope to have created some fun memories for the parents and children that came to our sessions and look forward to welcoming them back again in the Spring. 🌸☀️🌱 (fb)
