Don’t forget our Lecture at Matthews Hall this morning. Starting at 11am until 12noon. The Rivers’ Voice (A Search for the Spirit of the Exe Estuary) will be presented by Ray Balkwill, painter and author. Pay at the door £5. A reminder there won’t be a lecture in June, our daytime series will re-start in July. (fb)
Come join us on Thursday 15th May from 11am-12 pm at Matthews Hall for the next Museum Lecture all about the beautiful River Exe. Our speaker Ray Balkwill (author and painter) will give an illustrated presentation. The River’s Voice-a seach for the spirit of the Exe Estuary is the theme. Entry £5 payable at the door. (fb)

Topsham from the Foreshore by Primrose Vera Pitman 19021998 The Museum is housed in one of a group of late 17th century buildings overlooking the Exe Estuary. Visitors can enjoy the furnished period rooms of the original Merchants House and the exhibits in the Sail Loft. Displays give a timeline of the towns general history with much of the Museums focus on Topshams maritime history in its role as a trade port and shipbuilding centre. Exhibits also include unique historic river craft local trades and organisations and wildlife of the Exe Estuary.
