𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝘁𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝟭,𝟰𝟲𝟬 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀. That is how long Afghan girls have been banned from high school and university. According to 𝗨𝗡 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 (𝟭𝟭 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱): - 𝟳𝟴% of young Afghan women are not in education, employment, or training. - Maternal mortality could rise by 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟱𝟬% by 2026. - Only 𝟯𝟴% of women feel they can influence decisions in their own households. In our small community in Wales, we refuse to look away. Through 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗶’𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, we are working to bring an Afghan family with daughters to safety and education — because helping one family will not change the world, but it will change the world for that family.
