This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re talking about community. At Suicide&Co, our community is growing as our awareness increases. We know however, due to research that each year, between 36,000 and 819,000 more people newly face the pain of suicide loss. This vast community are too often suffering in silence, unaware of the support on offer. So today we ask our existing community to have a think of who you may know who belongs to this community but doesn’t know about us yet. If someone comes to mind, take a few minutes to think how you could share our resources with them; share an Instagram post or send the link to our website via a text. Whatever it may be, the gesture could make a massive impact. You could be introducing them to a warm and welcoming community, offering validation and support through our services. This Mental Health Awareness Week, we wanted to highlight some of the experiences that our community have had when accessing our services. This is Dulcie. Dulcie lost her daughter to suicide, and has bravely shared her story and journey of discovering Suicide&Co and the experience of the support she received from our Counselling Service. Our Counselling Service offers free access to bereavement counselling for adults bereaved by suicide across England and Wales.
