The Center on Long-Term Risk has two related upcoming programs for people interested in work on s-risks from AI: the CLR Foundations Course and CLR S-Risk Seminars. The CLR Foundations Course will introduce people to CLR’s research on s-risk reduction. (Our priority areas include multi-agent AI safety, AI governance, epistemology, risks from malevolent & fanatical actors, and macrostrategy.) The application deadline is this upcoming Wednesday, November 27th, 23:59 Pacific Time. The CLR S-Risk Seminars will dive deeper into different priority cause areas within s-risk reduction and is intended for people who have completed the CLR Foundations Course or have a similar level of context. We’re looking for Summer Research Fellows to explore strategies for reducing suffering in the long-term future (s-risks). For eight weeks, fellows will join our team at our office while working on their own research project. During this time, they’ll be in regular contact with our researchers and other fellows, and will receive guidance from an experienced mentor.
