Camberley Care Trust
Camberley Care Trust is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) registered with the Charity Commission of England and Wales, carrying charity number 1188130. The organisation is dedicated to supporting elderly, disabled, and vulnerable members of the Camberley and Frimley community by providing essential services that enable them to live independently and safely in their own homes.
History and Services
Established with a mission to provide practical help, Camberley Care Trust has been operating its volunteer car service for over 45 years. This service offers reliable and safe transportation to individuals with restricted mobility, allowing them to attend medical appointments, visit family and friends, and engage in social activities. The car service is provided free of charge, though donations are encouraged to cover operational costs. All drivers are volunteers who can claim expenses.
In addition to its car service, the Trust also provides a subsidised handyperson service. Reinstated in 2018, this service offers an affordable solution for smaller home maintenance jobs that typically take two hours or less to complete. This includes a variety of tasks around the house, making it easier for elderly and vulnerable individuals to maintain their homes safely.
Funding and Values
Camberley Care Trust relies entirely on donations from clients, local businesses, churches, and other charitable organisations, as it does not receive direct government funding. Its core values include caring deeply about the work it does and the people it serves, prioritising the needs of its clients, acting with integrity, and being passionate about enabling independent living.
The Trust is set to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2024, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to supporting the local community.
