This Organ Donation Week, our Collette has been spending her time visiting lovely heart patients who are on the urgent transplant list. The urgent list means you are so poorly you can't go home without a transplant. The days are long and boring and the days have become weeks and months for a few that Collette spoke to. On the CCU Collette met some incredible people, and they had ALL watched 'The Boy with the 8 Hour Heart' and recognised Collette and the Save9Lives top! Collette’s family spent so many months on these same wards with Jim, and all of us at Save9Lives truly hope that updates reach those on the urgent transplant list soon. ❤️ #organdonorawarenessweek #save9lives #weneedtotalkorgandonation #organdonationawareness #organdonationweek (fb)

SAVE9LIVES OUR STORY Save9Lives founder Jim Lynskey Save9Lives is a campaign founded by NHS organ donation ambassador Jim Lynskey which vibrantly advocates the message that one person can save or enhance the lives of up to nine lives through transplant. Jim was living with a condition called dilated cardiomyopathy which caused his heart to become weakened and enlarged. In 2015 Jims heart reached chronic failure and he began his wait for a donor heart. Knowing that there were another 6000 sons daughters mothers fathers brothers and sisters waiting on the transplant list Jim founded Save9Lives focusing his time and energy into giving more families a better chance at life.
