Commission Opportunity – Houghton Feast Schools Project We’re looking for an artist or creative team to work with primary schools in Houghton-le-Spring to bring “The Magic of Houghton” to life through collaborative artwork! Commissioned by The Cultural Spring and Sunderland City Council, the project will involve delivering creative workshops in up to 8 schools, engaging 160–200 young people, and producing artwork to be displayed both in schools and digitally in Houghton Library. 💰 Fee: Up to £4,500 (inclusive of materials, travel, and VAT) 📅 Apply by 12 noon, Monday 11th August 📍 Delivery: 14th–30th September | Installation by 3rd October We’re looking for bold, imaginative proposals that celebrate creativity, community and young voices. We're only just recovering from last weekend! We were part of not one but two incredible events - The South Tyneside Summer Parade, which was planned and coordinated by our brilliant South Tyneside project officer Claire - what a day it was! And then we had the privilege of programming a tent on the second day of the brilliant Summer Streets festival, where we heard music from The Cultural Strings, Lydia and Leighton, Nadeem Aslam, and our Gig Culture artists Josh Hannigan, Josie Littlewood, Callum Stephenson, Leopard Print, and Luminous! Phew! We're still basking in a proud glow after watching our communities and groups strut their stuff over the whole weekend!
