At NEWSAR, we’re proud to be part of a team that supports each other both during callouts and behind the scenes. Our volunteers juggle everyday pressures alongside the physical and emotional demands of mountain rescue. That’s why this Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re shining a light on something just as important as physical strength, mental wellbeing. The outdoors can offer a moment of calm, but it’s okay if that’s not always enough. No matter how strong someone seems on the outside, we all need support sometimes. Remember that support is always within reach. REMEMBER - Check in with a friend. Speak openly. Look after yourself like you’d look after a loved one. We were contacted yesterday afternoon to request our assistance with a fallen female with a lower leg injury near Dyserth waterfall. Once on scene and after full assessment the casualty was given some welcome pain relief, splinted and stretchered to the car park. She was then transported to the nearest A&E.
